Saving Baby's Life

When we went to my Prenatal Check-up last time, my doctor asked us if we are going to save my baby’s umbilical cord. I don’t know about this stuff so she explained to us about the benefits of saving our baby’s cord blood. She said that researchers have found that stem cells, which are present in cord blood, have proved very successful in treating some diseases. Cord blood is blood found in the umbilical cord and placenta, which in the past were usually discarded following delivery. Cord blood is abundant in stem cells, which are the forerunner of the cells that make all the blood cells. These special cells are undeveloped in cord blood and are capable of becoming many different kinds of blood cells.

Unlike most conventional medicines that treat symptoms, Cryo-Cell's "Protect Baby, Protect Mom" focuses on correcting and replacing diseases or damaged cells. Cord blood stem cells are currently used in the treatment of over 40 life-threatening diseases, including leukemia and several other cancers.

She also said that our baby’s cord blood stem cells are a perfect genetic match for our baby and there is up to a 75% chance our baby’s cord blood will be an acceptable match for siblings, as well also has the potential to treat other family member.
